Summer is almost here! And at the library, it’ll start a little before school lets out. Take a look at some of what will be going on in the next few weeks:

Summer Reading begins Saturday, June 1

Read for prizes! For every five hours you read, you get neat smaller stuff like funky pens and stamps, and you also get your name entered into a drawing for a really awesome prize package! I’ll try to put more info about the particular packages when I get them, but to give you an example, last year we had an Avengers package with dvds and more, a Hunger Games package with some cool movie stuff, and a Dungeons and Dragons package complete with a “bag of holding” messenger bag. Find out more at the library!

Video Game Night: June 1, 5pm to 11 pm

Notice we’ve changed the time a little! We’re starting and ending a little later to give more time for playing after pizza, since we can’t get that started until after the library closes. Make sure and arrange your rides if you need to! Also, don’t forget to RSVP on facebook, or send me a message to let me know you’re coming.

Geek Prom: June 15, 2pm to 5pm

Still working out the details, but I can guarantee this will be way more awesome than my high school prom. =P  Come dressed as your favorite geek icon, and get ready to party! We’ll have music, food, games, door prizes, and a costume contest. More info to come by Video Game Night! Continue reading →
