What will you be reading?
First, just another reminder that there will be no Scribblers this week, as I am out of town for the state library conference. But we will be having our read-a-thon this Saturday, and I am bringing home half a dozen advanced reader copies of books to give away as prizes! I’ll post a sneak peek of those for you later!
Have you been thinking about what to read this Saturday? Need some ideas? Here are a few titles I read in October that were pretty amazing:
- A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
- House of Dark Shadows by Robert Liparulo
- The Healer’s Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson
I’m still putting my stack together for this weekend so I have plenty to pick from, but here are some I’m considering that we also have at the library:
- Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev
- Graceling by Kristin Cashore
- The Watch that Ends the Night (Voices of the Titanic) by Allan Wolf
But of course, this is the first book on my list for this weekend…
Question is, what will YOU read? Share with us!

Currently Reading: Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis
April Read-a-thon
One more week until the read-a-thon!
Next Saturday at the library we will be having an 8-hour reading marathon with free books, free food, and fun challenges with some cool prizes!
Our program will be going on the same day as a bigger, 24 hour online challenge called Dewey’s Read-a-thon. It’s a social reading event, complete with “cheerleaders” who sign up to visit the reader’s blogs throughout the day and encourage them as they read! You are not required to sign-up for the 24 hour event to participate at the library, but if you’re interested, read more about it here.
To RSVP for the library’s event, CONTACT ME or respond on Facebook.
If you are planning to take part in the separate 24 event, you can sign up on their website, here: Dewey’s Read-a-thon Reader Sign-ups
For those who plan to blog about their reading that day and want to encourage each other, leave a comment with a link to your site here, or on the Facebook page!
